Types of Hearing Aid

There are four types of hearing aids:
1. Cassette hearing aid . Also called pocket style or pocket style. It is similar to a cigarette box and hangs in a pouch on the chest or in a pocket. The main unit is connected to the earphone through a wire and inserted into the external auditory meatus. Its main disadvantage is that the wire is longer, which is neither beautiful nor convenient. However, due to its large size, it can be equipped with a variety of function adjustment switches to provide better acoustic performance and is easily made into a high-power type to meet the needs of severely deaf children. Children and the elderly use more, accounting for 5 to 10% of the demand. Hearing aids produced in China are mainly of this type. Because the components are large and easy to manufacture, it is convenient to use ordinary No. 5 batteries (or No. 7 batteries) and the cheapest price.
2. Glasses hearing aids . At the same time, it can meet the needs of patients with refractive errors and deafness. The end of the leg is connected with the BTE hearing aid, which is convenient for maintenance and replacement. For a person who is deaf in one ear or normal in one ear or who is deaf in one ear and partially deaf in another ear, a so-called signal cross-linked hearing aid is created. Its main purpose is to help the single-ear deaf person to receive the acoustic stimulation on the deaf side, in order to facilitate safety and dialogue, glasses-type hearing aids to achieve this function is more convenient. In addition to the air conduction method, this type of hearing aid is also most suitable for making bone conduction hearing aids. The disadvantage is that glasses and hearing aids are mutually constrained, and the price is the most expensive. [It looks like glasses, and has a certain concealing effect on people who feel unattractive with BTE hearing aids. All other aspects of performance are poor, it is a hearing aid that has been eliminated. ]
3. BTE hearing aids . It looks like a banana curvature, lying behind the ears, and is generally about 4 to 5 cm long. The receiver opening is connected to a sound-guiding hook made of a hard plastic tube, which is hung on the root of the upper edge of the auricle, so that the hook is placed into the ear cavity and the ear canal through the soft plastic tube and ear mold earplugs. Hearing aids have the fastest development. Many manufacturers can provide 30 to 50 different specifications of products, and their functions are gradually increasing. It can now be made into a high-power type or a special type of BTE hearing aid for deaf-mute children with low frequency hearing loss. Due to its excellent performance, the case can be made into various skin tones, concealed by the hair behind the ears, often not found by outsiders, and can meet the psychological requirements of deaf people. In some countries, it has become the most popular universal hearing aid, with a general usage rate of about 60%.
There are two types of BTE:
The microphone is in the ear:
The hearing aid where the microphone is placed in the ear canal is also called "RITE". The sound is sent to the ear canal near the eardrum through a wire as thin as hair. Earplugs or ear molds will firmly fix the microphone in the ear canal;
Through the sound tube:
The sound is transmitted into your ear canal through the pipe. You can also find them in what is called "BTE" or "Power". They have a larger battery than the RITE type, which can accommodate a larger amplifier, which makes them more powerful and very suitable for people with severe hearing loss.
4. Customized hearing aids . Custom-made hearing aids are collectively referred to as "in-ear hearing aids", "ear-canal hearing aids" and "deep-ear canal hearing aids". The biggest feature of customized hearing aids is that they are customized according to the shape of each of our ears , which is suitable for personal ears. This makes it more comfortable to wear and easy to take on; it can make full use of the sound collection function of the outer ear; it is less noticeable; it can answer the phone in the normal way. Among them, the "deep ear canal hearing aid" has the smallest shape, and the function of using the external ear to collect sound is closer to our real ear and is less likely to be discovered. It also has the best effect of suppressing tinnitus. But the price of customized hearing aids is also relatively high-especially "deep ear canal hearing aids" (under the same brand, same model and same power, the smallest form factor is more expensive-for "customized hearing aids" "For the sake of it!)
