Methods of Hearing Test

In the medical field, the scope and content of the hearing test is very wide. In educational settings, common listening tests include pure tone listening test, speech listening test and behavioral listening test.

  1. Pure tone listening test: Pure tone listening test can help us determine the degree of hearing loss in children, and the results are usually used as an important basis for hearing aid selection.

  2. Speech listening test: The speech listening test can help us understand the degree of loss of individual speech listening; the comfortable loudness range required by the individual; the ability to distinguish between different language sounds. The results of speech audiometry are of great reference value for the selection of hearing aids, the evaluation of hearing aid effects and the development of individualized language training programs.

  3. Behavior Observation Audiometry: Observe the behavioral response after giving children sound stimuli, such as turning their heads, gazing, turning their eyes, stopping activities, etc. This method is relatively rough. The key is that the tester should carefully observe and compare the Russian behavioral response before and after the child receives the sound stimulation.

  4. Game audiometry: The tester uses various moving or vocal toys to attract children's attention to achieve the purpose of audiometry.

  5. Other hearing test methods: such as using otoacoustic emission to check the physiological function of the cochlea, and electro-physiological audiometry to check the function of the cochlea, auditory nerve pathways, and auditory center.
